Experience required :
1. Post qualification teaching experience as Faculty in the areas of Strategic Management in a reputed academic Institute or a renowned Business Organization / Corporate Industrial House on a regular / full time basis. Some working experience in the Corporate Strategy area shall be an added advantage.
Preferable : Successful track record in Research & Publication in the relevant field shall be given preference
14 years of post qualification experience, out of which 3 years should be in the immediate next below level/post/grade of E5 (Rs. 17500-22300/-) or equivalent level post/grade.
Job Description : NTPC Ltd, seeks some of the best professionals in the areas of Renewable/Non-conventional Energy, Environment Management (EMG), Energy Technologies, Safety, Mining & Geology, Finance/Internal Audit, Faculty for Power Management Institute (PMI), Human Resource (HR)/ Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R)/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Industrial Engineering (IE), Public Relation (PR), Hindi, Company Secretary and Assistant Chemist Trainees (ACT).
NTPC, India’s largest power company with an installed capacity of 29,894 MW is presently operating 15 coal based, 7 gas based power stations and 4 joint ventures. NTPC contributed around 28.5% of the country’s entire power generation during the year 2007-08 and plans to become a 75,000 MW power company by 2017. General Conditions:
1. All qualifications should be from Universities / Institutions recognized and approved in India by AlCTE/UGC/appropnate statutory authority. The qualification of Degree in Engineering also includes AMIE.
2. All Computations of age/ minimum experience requirement / qualification shall be done w.r.t. the Last date of receipt of on-line applications as mentioned in the advertisement. The date of declaration of result / is suance of Mark sheet shall be deemed to be the date of acquiring the qualification and there shall be no relaxation on this account. Post qualification executive experience on a post / .level shall be counted only from the said date onwards
3 In order to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview and / or screening test, if so required, the Management reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards / criteria. Management may also relax / lower the qualifying standards / criteria in case suitable candidates are not available.

4. Candidates claiming to belong to any particular category shall necessarily submit a copy of SC/ST/OBC/PWD certificate, as the case may be, from a competent authority. Relaxation of age, experience, % of marks in qualification etc. as per Govt, guidelines shall be applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD, XSM and candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.80 to 31.12.89. Upper age is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates, by 3 years for OBC candidates, by 5 years for candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.80 to 31.12.89. For SC/ST candidates, total length of experience will be relaxed by 1 year where prescribed experience is 3 to 5 years and be relaxed by 2 years where prescribed experience is more than 6 years. There shall be no relaxations in the minimum service required in the next below grade service as prescribed in the experience requirement against each position. Candidates belonging to OBC category, but coming in the ‘creamy layer* are not entitled to the benefits of OBC. The requirement of 60% marks in qualification wherever mentioned is relaxable to’pass marks’for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
5. Depending on the requirement, the Company reserves the right to cancel / restrict / curtail / enlarge the number of vacancies and recruitment process, if need so arises, without any further notice and without assigning any reason thereof.
6. Positions are advertised for NTPC and for its Subsidiaries/JVs.
7. While applying for any post, the applicant should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility and other norms mentioned above, as on the specified dates and that the particulars furnished are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect/false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand automatically cancelled.
