Prakashraj Aspire for Hollywood role

National award winner Prakashraj came down hard on critics who had said that Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Sathyaraj deserved the National award more. "Maybe I was a little lucky and Kanchivaram had more content," said Prakashraj.

The actor said he considered himself lucky when he received the blessings of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and 'Iyakunar Sigaram' K. Balachander. Kalaignar's smart remark was that he had two reasons for remembering Kanchivaram – one for Anna (C.N. Annadurai) and the other for the movie's title.

What are his next goals after the National award, the media asked? Prakashraj said he would like to act in a Hollywood film and also direct a movie.

Taking a dig at Kollywood, Prakashraj said that nothing is permanent in the industry. “The artiste is forgotten the very moment when the baton of the National award changes hands. I am proud that a Tamil film has won this recognition after so many years. Once Kanchivaram makes its way to various international festivals, the country's flag will go up,” said Prakashraj with justified pride.

Of his production venture, Prakashraj said Inidhu Inidhu, remake of the Telugu hit Happy Days, will feature newcomers. “I will provide the platform for the aspirants and the onus is on them to take centre stage,” Prakashraj signed off with his trademark smile.
